High schoolers and their chaperones can enjoy a private and interactive master class that showcases how the authors get inspired and work on their craft, followed by a writing exercise.

Writing Contest
Feeling inspired after the festival? All participants are eligible to submit either one unpublished poem, short story, or personal essay under 5,000 words to our Great Lakes Writers Festival contest. Each piece will be reviewed by Associate Professor of Writing, Jodie Mortag and festival interns. A prize of $100.00 will be awarded to the winning submission. Submission deadline, December 1st.
